UPDATE: The drawing for the winner will be posted by this Saturday. Thank you! :)

Here is my newly built scrapbook space! Can I just say...I LOVE it! After scrapbooking on my kitchen counter and totally consuming the dining room table for waaaay too long, I was able to build this space out of a niche in my bedroom. Thanks to my unbelievably patient and accomodating sister and brother in law who hauled themselves up to IKEA for me, I had the components needed to get cabinet bases, shelves and a countertop of my dreams. I still have to paint a couple of 2x4's (don't look too close) :), but other than that it's complete. I can't wait to finish up a few scrappy projects and start some new ones. My sewing machine is tucked behind the dress form on the right, and I even have cutouts for the electrical cords. In honor of my newly defined space and also because my blog is about to pass the 13,000 (!) mark with hits from 38 countries, I want to give away my first RAK to you, my faithful readers. It'll be a good one, promise. Who knows, I might even throw in an extra surprise! ;) Here's what you need to do to win.... Each thing you do gets you another entry!

1. Leave a comment on my blog under this post. If you post an organizational tip, you'll get an additional entry.

2. Become a follower, then leave a post that you did that.

3. Leave a link to my blog about this RAK on another site, and come post and tell me where you did it.

4. Leave a post about your favorite thing you like about my new space (just cause it's fun for me to read!) hee hee

Ok, did you count them? That's five separate posts that mean five entries you can rack up! The RAK will be a great big 'ol honking package! If you want to see before photos and also pictures of the entire room my scrappy space is in, check out the two previous posts of this blog! P.s.: In case you're wondering, yes...those jars are all filled with ribbon. ;) They are beautiful recycled candle jars! If you want a zoom shot, just click on any photo.

UPDATE!!! You have til Dec 31st to get all your entries in! :) Drawing will be held the first week of Jan. 2010.

What a gorgeous space, Angie! I love how you have all those favorite things mixed in with the scrappy supplies.

Now I want to see what it looks like after a crop weekend ;)

I'm already a follower.

My organizational tip - to keep my MS and fiskars border punches close, I used my Bite Bite cropadile to punch a hole in the base, and keep them on rings that hang on my metal shelves near my desk. They are off the desk, but close enough I can grab one when I want.

Angie! Your new space is soooo amazing & gorgeous! You did such a great job on it! I'm so very jealous!!

Okay, Angie... here are my entries:

1. Just posted a comment above. My organization tip is that if you use a Cuttlebug or Sizzix Texture Boutique, I've found that the smaller embossing folders fit perfectly inside one of those cheap 4 x 6 photo books. You can probably even find some that will hold the bigger embossing folders. This is a great way to keep them all together.

2. I've never done the "follower" thing, but I just did it! Learn something new every day!! LOL

3. I posted about your RAK/prize on my blog (Dec 19): http://michelle-thelifeilive.blogspot.com/2009/12/oh-glorious-snow.html

4. Okay, are you serious?? You want us to pick one favorite thing?! This is hard! Okay, I absolutely LOVE that photo you have hanging on the wall. You are right--those eyes are just beautiful! (I also love the dress form, the chandellier, the metal {?} purse, the tags near the cream ribbons & buttons, all the shelving & drawers, & the fact that you can keep all your stuff nearby to use, like the sewing machine!) Just awesome!!!!

I think I got it all covered! You rocked this scrap space, Angie! have fun with it!

I just added your blog candy to my sidebar. I love all the glass containers showing off your ribbons.

Your space looks fabulous. I just became a follower of your blog. My favorite thing is the storage drawers (because I have them too and recommended them). I am so glad they worked out so well for you and you were able to get them. Enjoy your new space.

LOVE, LOVE, LOVE your room!

Okay, #1, I'm now following your blog. #2, I'm leaving you a message, #3, Organization. Your space makes me think of white bird cages filled with ribbons and lace, #4....what's #4? Oh, what I like best...ARE YOU KIDDING???? Maybe it's the way you've combined the old with the new, or the use of white, or the glass jars, or the Love plaque that I also have...or just the fact that I love cottage style, none of which have anything to do with scrapping :-)

You did good!

Cindy Shea said...

OMG, Ang! It is soooo good to hear from you. I really miss all of you on Vintage Flaire. I see you have been keeping busy with some awesome projects and the new scraproom too. It is just gorgeous!! I love the whole cottage feel of it...so inspiring of an area to create in. The rest of the room is so pretty and restful looking too and just think...when you are up late scrapping and your hubby is asleep you can lay out your pages in progress across him as he sleeps...LOL :)

I'm so overcome with envy I can hardly SPEAK! This craft room is a dream come true: paper drawers! floating shelves! chandelier! Pretty pretty pretty and useful and gorgeous and.... oh how I wish I had a spare room all to myself instead of a corner of the living room. Well, I will just have to do the best I can with what space I have!

Congratulations on a truly wonderful job - I know you're going to create some lovely art in there.

Thanks so much for visiting, Happy Pink Saturday and Merry Christmas in advance!

Janet said...

WOW! This is so cool! I am lovin' this area and I wish I were blessed with the touch that you have. The only thing I might recommend is making some scrappy tags and labeling your drawers...

I am in awe of everything but my favorite thing in your area is the little set of pink and grey tins on the little white shelf to the right.....love these!

I am now a follower of your blog and not only mentioned your blog and give away but I added your button to my sidebar!!! My blog is located at http://brokenarroweranch.blogspot.com/.

1. I've been holding my breath waiting for those pictures! They were certainly worth the wait.

Organizational tip: I like to keep my most used objects close at hand, otherwise I won't put them away. I save my far-reaching places for stuff I hardly ever use. I'm very lazy and have to make it easy to put things away. I have found that drawers work best for me.

2. I am a follower of your blog.

3. I posted about this on The Crafty Table: http://www.craftyria.com/board/index.php

4. My favorite thing is the ribbons in jars. I think I will save jars and use them for ribbons. Well, I like those drawers, too. I think I'm going to redo my drawers and use some of your ideas.

Angela! This looks sooooooooooooo lovely! All your pretty touches are so girly and sweet. I would never want to leave the room. :)

Love your punch organization. The best thing about having a system is clean-up. You know right where everything goes.

You should send some photos to Megan Hoeppner mhoeppner@creatingkeepsakes.com for possible use in CK Creative Spaces.
Thanks for sharing a peek inside your studio!

1. Love love love it! I'm so jealous. :)
2. I added your blog to my list of blogs I'm following! (thesurinefamily.blogspot.com)
3. Organization tip: I'm not sure if you use clear stamps, but a 4x6 photo album is a great way to store them so you can easily flip through and find what you need. (I like the idea someone else posted about using those for dies too!) They're cheap and it's easy and fun to decorate the covers to match your scrap space's decor!
4. My favorite part is the wide shallow drawers. I'm a punch addict and would LOVE to have something like that for my punches! Have fun creating in your new beautiful space!

Angie- your space turned out amazing! Hard to believe it is in the corner of a bedroom. I think I am already a follower but I will double check. I have all of my most used tools in a basket right on my desk. Easy for grabbing quickly.

I love everything in your new space but I was drawn to the ribbon storage because mine is a disaster right now. Where did you get those jars?

Angie... by the said...

Oh my goodness girls, thank you all so much for the kind words. Thank you for sharing your tips, too! I'm keeping track of all your entries, so keep 'em coming. :) Laura, the large oval glass jars are former Colonial Candle holders, mostly which I picked up with coupons at Linens and Things but are also found at Tuesday Morning and TJ Maxx. The smaller ones are Mason jars, you know the kind used for canning. I love the look of older glass jars, don't you. They kind of remind me of a candy store! ;)

Oh my gosh, you have totally created my scrapbook space. It's exactly as I have envisioned it! This room is beyond adorable. I hope you get hours and hours of enjoyment from it. Hope the boys recover quickly...then you can get scrappin'. ;)

Angie!! wowser, all these years, ahem, months, lol, of waiting for you to post, and you outdo yourself! Well, it is nothing short of breathtaking! I had to chuckle when I read I'm to leave an organizational tip, here's my tip: don't listen to me! LOL AS IF I could possibly offer any tip to you!!!! LOL, you should see my space and laugh yourself silly at its disarray!
I am MOST impressed with the gorgeous array of punches! LOL, you know I'm a punch junkie and to have it so NEATLY organized, wow, what an amazing dream!

I am so impressed that you pulled this together in a relatively short amount of time! Like I mentioned before, can I get you to come give my room a remodel? JK!
1. I'm here, posting!
2. I keep stacked 12x12 paper trays that are labeled (1)pages in progress, (2)journaling needed, (3)completed layouts (those waiting to be put away). This way I can have a few different projects going at once without my space being overwhelmed!

5. My favorite thing about your new scrap space is the wide shallow drawers. I desperately need that for my punches, although I don't have as many as you! I also like you CS storage location---easy reach below your table top!

MousEarz said...

Oh heavens! Your new space is amazing Angie. Now, can you come do one for me? ;)

I think my fave thing about your new space is the wide shallow drawers that you organized your punches & dies in. Fantastic. If only I had the space to be able to do that...but I'm going to remember the idea!

Another comment by me. Went over to Scrapadilly Message Board and posted a comment giving them a link to your blog. Just want others to see the beauty you have created here.

My favorite thing is the chandelier, no wait maybe it's the armoir or maybe the adorable rabbit with wicker basket. . . see I just cannot pick one single favorite.

As for organization tips. Girl, you do not need any help in that area!!!

Drea said...

Just beautiful! I love how your scrap area's decor blends so well with your bedroom!!

Drea said...

My tip:

I use baskets to store my ink pads right on my desk. With your decor, I think they would go well.

PattyC said...

Your space is just lovely. My favorite organizational tip is to keep the things I need most at arms length. I keep baskets of inks, pens, punches, scissors and adhesives all around my desk. That way I can grab what I need and put it back easily!

My favorite thing about your space is that it is so pretty. It looks very functional and is pretty without being too precious! Looks like you could really work there!

Stunning!!!
What a fun way to do a RAK! For us and you!

1. So elegant, it takes my breath away. The only suggestion I have is that you have so many lovely boxes but they are not labeled as to what is in them. You could make some vintage looking tags to put in the label holders or hang from them that would fit in with you decor nicely.

4. It's hard to pick on favorite but it must be the mini dress mannequin used to hang ribbon (far rigth side of desk behind the pitcher of Prisma pencils.

Very nice job!

Angie - your scrap space is very beautiful. It has a very soft and relaxed feel. I love how it blends well with the rest of your room.

I found some little tray/baskets at a sale and use them on my lower shelves to keep inks, stickles, paint, extra loose ribbons, etc. close at hand and in sight.

I posted a link to your blog on one of my favorite forums - SkrapNChat.com (http://www.skrapnchat.com/forum/index.php?topic=5934.0)

A couple things in particular to mention: (1) "the cherry on top" - the chandelier was one of the very first things I noticed and loved when I looked at the photos. (2) The other thing that I really like is that it is so perfectly well organized I didn't realize until I read through that it wasn't an entire Huge room.

Awesome space!

1. I love and adore your new space. I'm jealous you have access to people who have access to Ikea. I have no Ikea and no access...therefore, I am very jealous :)

My organizational tip is to store as many things as possible in clear containers, like you did with your ribbon. The more you see it, the more you'll use it. Plus, it makes your space look pretty and interesting.

2. I became a follower (even though I always get here via SSS on the daily blog thread :).

3. I'm going to link you on my blog (http://scrapbookobsession.wordpress.com).

4. My favorite thing is how you seamlessly merged your scrapbook space and bedroom so beautifully. I've never seen it done so well.

I love the dress form! I am not sure how many cricut carts you currently have but you can store them in the ornament containers that are now out or the snap and store ribbon with the white mesh grid like kids use for yarn work. I also made a clip it up with hooks to a bottom of a shelf, a metal dowel rod and book rings! Works wonderfully and keep things right in front of me, I am more likely to use them this way! Congrats on the new space!
