Front Porch Love...Welcome Home!

I just love summer! I love sitting outside on my front porch and having iced tea with family and friends. I've always wanted a covered front porch after leaving home when I got married. A couple of years ago my wonderful husband made that dream come true and we covered our deck. Here are some photos of our yard and porch. I love all the flowers and trees. We've had deer in our yard, squirrels all the time (which is always still exciting to me, especially when three at a time come and run all over the roof playing chase) and even a mountain lion (a little too exciting!) This porch is up pretty high, so it's like being in a secret little tree house!

Aren't you sweet! When we moved in our lot was nothing but pumice, lava rock and weeds. The dirt was like powder and I wondered if anything would grow! Ten years later it's green, thanks to tons of steer manure and peat moss and lots of love. We love it here, and this is one season the yard really shines. Come on over for some iced tea or lemonade and we'll scrap!

What beautiful surroundings! I have always wanted a covered wraparound front porch. Maybe I'll just come visit you:)

Angie, I am sooo jealous! I too have always wanted a covered porch! Your surounding there are just breathtaking and so lush and green. Did you say you are in the mountains? Does it smell like wonderful pine needles there? I thought I saw some pine trees:)

Thank you! We're in the foothills of the Cascades, they run thru the center of Oregon. There are lots of pine trees surrounding us, not many in our yard, though. We planted 40 (!) trees on our lot when we built our house. We made the builder leave all the junipers, they were old and we wanted our yard to look not so new. We love it here. It's like camping, and it looks so pretty at night cause there are no street lights. You see lots of stars.

Yeah, you do not need to go anywhere when you live in a place like this. SO BEAUTIFUL. I also love your blog. Feast to my Eye! TFS so many lovely things such as your collections, etc.

Hi Angie. I decided I'd visit my blogger friends (you are a follower of my blog, btw) and I just want to say that I LOVE your porch and the view! I have a front porch on the main street which is not conducive to relaxing. I so want to decorate it, but I'm afraid that my stuff will get stolen. Your yard and surroundings are gorgeous. I LOVE it!
